Learning objectives
Identify common MSK conditions where injections are appropriate in primary care and differentiate key indications and contraindications.
Apply safe injection principles, including aseptic technique, correct agent selection, informed consent, documentation, and safety‑netting.
Recognise when to refer rather than inject, and navigate local referral pathways for physiotherapy, imaging, and specialist care.
Assess and manage common shoulder presentations—selecting appropriate injection targets, understanding when imaging is required, and planning post‑injection rehabilitation.
