Learning objectives

* Understand fundamentals of sleep
* Identify common causes and types of insomnia and their impacts on health
* Awareness of the biological basis of circadian rhythms and their significance in sleep regulation
* Evaluate the role of melatonin in sleep onset and the implications of melatonin supplementation
* Recognize the characteristics and diagnostic criteria for delayed sleep phase disorder
* Demonstrate basic CBT techniques that can be used to address insomnia and improve sleep patterns.
* Discuss interventions tailored to manage sleep disturbances in menopausal women, including non-hormonal and lifestyle approaches.
