Youth Wellbeing Clinician (1.0 FTE)
Want to work differently with young people?
Nelson Bays Primary Health is looking for a Youth Wellbeing Clinician to join our youth-focused primary mental health and wellbeing service.
Our service supports young people aged 12–24 years experiencing mild to moderate mental health and wellbeing concerns. We work in flexible, youth-friendly ways and connect with young people in places and settings that work for them — including community, face-to-face and virtual support.
You'll work as part of a collaborative team alongside peer support and other health and community services, helping young people access the right support early and supporting them to identify what wellbeing looks like for them.
What you'll bring:
We're looking for a registered health professional who:
enjoys working with young people and whānau;
is comfortable working flexibly and collaboratively across community and health settings;
can work confidently within their clinical scope while knowing when to seek support;
is committed to culturally safe and equitable practice and has the capability to work effectively with Māori, Pacific and diverse communities; and
is passionate about improving access and outcomes for young people.
Experience in primary or secondary mental health is desirable, but we're interested in the whole person and what you bring to the role.
Why NBPH?
You'll be joining a team that is committed to making primary mental health and wellbeing support more accessible, youth-friendly and responsive to the needs of our communities.
We value relationships, collaboration, learning and different perspectives.
You'll have opportunities to work alongside peer support, primary care, Māori and community providers and other services across Te Tau Ihu.
If you're a clinician who wants to make a difference and enjoys working alongside young people rather than simply providing care to them, we'd love to hear from you.
IMPORTANT NOTE: To be eligible for this role, applicants must:
be able to work in NZ (NZ residency or valid NZ work permit)
receive a satisfactory police check
hold a full and current Annual Practicing Certificate
