As the primary health organisation (PHO) for the Nelson Bays region, we have stood for accessible, quality primary care for the region. General Practice access is pivotal to ensure wellbeing across communities. General Practice in our region has demonstrated this through many of the challenges in healthcare being the glue supporting communities. Nelson Bays Primary Health maintains that primary care investment should first and foremost be for the workforce, on the ground in our communities within existing general practices services. Our rural communities especially need clinicians to keep their practices sustainable.

So, while telemedicine is an important part of the primary care offering, for us in our region we need more investment in our people. That is why at Nelson Bays Primary Health, we work with general practice in building and sustaining our local general practice services.
