Nurse Practitioner — Part Time- Hauora Health 0.6FTE
Hauora Health Centre is a progressive, patient-centred general practice committed to delivering high-quality, equitable healthcare to our diverse community. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Nurse Practitioner (NP3+) to join our team on a minimum six-month contract, working three days per week.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner who enjoys autonomous clinical practice, collaborative teamwork, and supporting the development of the nursing workforce.
About the Role
As a Nurse Practitioner at Hauora Health Centre, you will provide advanced clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, prescribing, and ongoing management of patients across the lifespan within a primary care setting.
In addition to your clinical responsibilities, you will serve as the Clinical Supervisor for a Registered Nurse undertaking their Designated Registered Nurse Prescribing (DRNP) Specialty Practicum, providing mentorship, clinical oversight, and support throughout their prescribing practicum journey and for an already registered DRNP.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive primary healthcare services within your Nurse Practitioner scope of practice.
Undertake advanced assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and prescribing.
Manage both acute and long-term conditions.
Collaborate closely with GPs, nurses, and allied health professionals.
Support quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives.
Act as Clinical Supervisor for a Registered Nurse completing their Designated Registered Nurse Prescribing Specialty Practicum.
Facilitate clinical learning opportunities, feedback, competency development, and assessment processes as required by the prescribing programme.
About You
You will bring:
Current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand as a Nurse Practitioner.
NP3+ or above
Current practising certificate.
Authorised prescribing rights in New Zealand.
Recent experience working in primary healthcare or general practice.
Strong commitment to equitable health outcomes and culturally safe practice.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Experience in clinical education, mentoring, or supervision is highly desirable.
An interest in supporting the development of the nursing workforce.
