Rheumatology Specialist Role based in Sunny Nelson/Tasman

This exciting Rheumatology role is in process of transition to be part of the Nelson hospital services and be part of the General medicine team, available to support healthcare in our communities.

Specialist Rheumatologist- Rheumatology Service

0.8 FTE (24 hours per week)

This is a rare opportunity for a Rheumatology Specialist to provide care working across hospital and primary care in Sunny Nelson/Tasman. This role is in process of transition to be part of the Nelson hospital services and be part of the General medicine team. Nelson hospital is in the process of exciting new development, and this role has scope to be part of clinical service, which is well supported regionally, and locally by a well-developed primary and hospital services pathways.

The successful candidate responsibilities will include oversight and support of clinical care across the community, triaging referrals and providing upskilling to General Practitioners during clinics held across the Nelson and Marlborough regions. Experience in a primary health care setting is preferred but not essential.

About you:

  • Vocational registration in internal medicine (Rheumatology) with NZMC, or have completed higher training in rheumatology and eligible to apply for registration with NZMC to work as a specialist

  • Current certificate of completion, RACP MyCPD or equivalent certification of continuing medical education
