Reception Team Leader – Medical and Injury Centre (MIC)
The Medical and Injury Centre (MIC) is an Urgent Care Clinic providing accident and after-hours medical services. We work in partnership with local General Practices and Nelson Bays Primary Health to deliver high-quality, responsive care to our community.
We are seeking a Receptionist Team Leader to oversee our front-of-house team and ensure a smooth, welcoming, and well-coordinated patient experience. This role is central to the day-to-day running of MIC and has shared responsibility for the accurate and timely management of the Day Book, including ensuring all claims (ACC, MoH and others) are correctly identified and processed.
What you'll do:
Lead and support the reception team in a busy, fast-paced environment.
Oversee daily reception operations and ensure excellent patient service.
Hold shared responsibility for maintaining the Day Book, ensuring accuracy and smooth workflow.
Support a positive team culture focused on quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
Communicate effectively across the wider MIC team and uphold our commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
What you’ll bring:
Previous reception or administration experience (health sector preferred).
Strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire, mentor, and coordinate a team.
Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving abilities.
Confidence using systems and managing multiple tasks at once.
