Whakatū Wellness: Move, Connect and Support Your Wellbeing

Nelson Bays Primary Health, in partnership with Nelson Public Libraries, is pleased to offer Whakatū Wellness, a free eight-week community wellbeing programme designed to support strength, balance, movement and social connection.

Starting on Thursday 15 October, sessions will be held from 1.00pm to 2.00pm at the Rūma Mānuka Activity Room, Elma Turner Library.

Led by the Green Prescription Team – Rongoā Kākāriki, Whakatū Wellness provides a welcoming and supportive environment where participants can improve their physical wellbeing while building connections with others in the community.

Each weekly session includes:

  • A gentle 30-minute movement programme focused on strength, balance and co-ordination

  • Seated and standing options to suit different abilities

  • Time to enjoy a hot drink and kai while connecting with others

Whakatū Wellness is suitable for people who would like to increase their activity levels, improve confidence with movement, and enjoy the benefits of social connection in a relaxed group setting.
